When wearing sunglasses there are several important tips to consider, as these will help boost overall health and help to avoid unnecessary cancers. Olympic Eyewear recommends following these helpful sunglasses tips:

  • For optimal protection, sunglasses should be worn during peak sunlight hours, including in the early morning and late afternoon. On average, the most damaging sunrays are usually between the hours of 8 to 10 A.M. and 2 to 4 P.M. Exposing eyes to these extreme UVA and UVB rays is harmful. Consider opting for sunglasses that offer UV protection.
  • When spending time near the water, remember that water reflects 100-percent of the sun's rays, which means it puts eyes at a higher risk for being exposed to UVA and UVB rays. Additionally, concrete and dry sand reflect nearly 25-percent of sunrays.
  • If sunglasses are uncomfortable, people will be less apt to wear them. Consider selecting a pair that compliments your facial shape and is extremely comfortable on the bridge of the nose, temples and ears. Having a snug fit means that sunglasses will hug the face and offer more protection for the eyes.
  • Do not feel the need to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a pair of sunglasses. Many less expensive versions offer adequate sun protection. Just make sure that the label offers UVA and UVB protection. Black frames are among the most popular styles, but recently more colorful shades are beginning to dominate the market.

Sunglasses are necessary summer accessories that look great and offer much needed sun protection. Any outfit can immediately be dressed up with a colorful pop of color from this season's latest sunglass designs. For example, a simple black and white outfit easily transforms into something special and trendy when colorful sunglasses are added.

Since people tend to spend more time outdoors in the summer, it is important to protect eyes from the risk of developing eye cancer.

Olympic Eyewear offers the latest sunglasses trends, including Wayfarer sunglasses, X-Loop sunglasses, Biohazard sunglasses, Chopper sunglasses, Locs sunglasses, VG sunglasses and DG sunglasses.

With a variety of sunglasses on today's market, there is no excuse for people to not take action and protect their eyes. People are only born with one set of eyes, so it is important to take necessary precautions to preserve eye health. Designer sunglasses offer the perfect compliment to any outfit, while offering a high-end accessory that serves the dual purpose of protecting one's health.
